What are the categories of pyrotechnics?

Categories of pyrotechnic devices are regulated by the Law on Explosive Substances and Production and Trafficking of Weapons (NN70 / 17) which has been in force since 27 July 2017, and regarding the categorization of pyrotechnics in Article 3, it says that pyrotechnic devices are all means containing explosive substances or explosive mixtures of substances intended to produce heat, light, sound, gas or smoke, or a combination of such effects through stand-alone exothermic chemical reactions, and are divided into categories F1, F2, F3, F4, T1, T2, P1 and P2.

Pyrotechnic articles of category F1 are pyrotechnic articles for fireworks which present a very low risk and negligible noise level and which are intended for use in confined spaces, including pyrotechnic articles for fireworks intended for use inside residential buildings.

Pyrotechnic articles of category F2 are pyrotechnic articles for fireworks which present a low risk and a low noise level and which are intended for outdoor use in confined spaces.

Pyrotechnic articles of category F3 are pyrotechnic articles for fireworks which present a medium risk and which are intended for outdoor use in large open spaces, and whose noise level is not harmful to human health.

Pyrotechnic articles of category F4 are pyrotechnic articles for fireworks which present a high risk and which may only be used by people with professional knowledge (commonly known as means for professional use), and which noise level is not harmful to human health.

Pyrotechnic articles of category T1 are pyrotechnic articles for use on stages (pyrotechnic articles for use in theaters) which present a low risk.

Pyrotechnic articles of category T2 are pyrotechnic articles for use on stages (pyrotechnic articles for use in theaters) which present a high risk and which can only be handled by people with professional knowledge.

Pyrotechnic articles of category P1 are other low-risk pyrotechnic articles, which include pyrotechnic articles which are an integral part of the equipment of ships for rescue at sea and pyrotechnic articles used in agriculture, air transport and similar activities, and which are used to disperse birds.

Category P2 pyrotechnic devices are other high-risk pyrotechnic devices that can only be handled by people with professional experience, including hail defense rockets.
